the temple center for sustainability and conservation - 1306 s. Cheyenne, Tulsa, Oklahoma
In conjunction with land legacy and sustainable Tulsa, Kevin Stephens design group envisions restoring this site as a community asset by renovating it into the first regional center for sustainable education and conservation. This temple was the first ever built in the state of Oklahoma. Kevin Stephens design group bought it in the spring of 2008. We envision a combination of offices for non-profit organizations focused on conservation and sustainable issues. The building's auditorium will be used for workshops, seminars, and lectures. The land adjacent to the building will be used for a model organic garden, as well as outdoor lectures and concerts. The temple itself will serve as a model for sustainable redevelopment through the various green building practices that will be used during it's reconstruction. The project will also memorialized the buildings history with a permanent exhibit installed at the entry.
